That Moment When….

Last Christmas I sold an Arrested Development mug to some guy who said he was Justin Lee (Annyong from Arrested Development). Yeah right! I thought he was kidding. I thought maybe his friends call him Annyong because he has the same name as the actor. But he sent me a really nice note and told me he was buying the mug as a gift. So I sent him some gift wrapping paper with Annyong on it. This morning I got a message from a girl asking if she could buy some of the paper. She said Justin Lee told her I sold it. I did a little Googling and found this on his Instagram. I’m peeing my pants right now!

I love designing!!!

I don’t get to do many graphic design projects for other people, but I recently I made a trade with a fellow artist. She commissioned me to design business cards for her in exchange for a couple paintings. Here’s what I came up with based on her specifications:

And now some art…or something like it

I went to the beach last month and spent most of the time collecting shells. I had no idea what I was going to do with them, but I decided to figure it out later. So I got them home, washed and sorted them, then sat down at my messy crafting table with my dremel. I tried carving letters on them and making them into keychains. The carving part was awesome. The keychain thing, not so much. I had to use big shells to carve, but every time I tried to drill through one to attach a ring to it, it exploded. Soooo…. I found that smaller shells, while not good for carving, are way easier to drill holes in. And I have an entire trash bag full of corks. Here’s what I came up with. (Oh, yes. And a photo of shells and my dirty craft table.)
